So, you’re considering buying a Tempur mattress, but the high cost is making you hesitant.
You ask yourself “Why should I buy a Tempur mattress when I can get another memory foam mattress for less than half the price?”
Hopefully, we can help give you some answers.
What is so unique about Tempur?
Tempur was the first memory foam mattress ever made and is the only mattress in the world that is recognised by Nasa. In fact, the entire history of Tempur leads back to space technology.
Tempur material was originally designed to absorb the g-force during space travel using viscoelastic polyurethane material. It’s undeniable comfort and supportive feel eventually led to the revolutionary mattress it is today.
Doesn’t regular memory foam feel the same as Tempur?
Tempur is much more dense than regular memory foam, allowing it to contour to the body in a way regular foam has been unable to emulate. Tempur has been used in the healthcare sector for a number of years as it’s able to relieve pressure from areas that need a bit of extra support and give a feeling of weightlessness.
Quality and attention are at the heart of Tempur.
Their mattresses go through as many as 67 quality checks before approving the product for sale and to ensure high standards are met every time, they only use their own factories to make their products.
Whilst you will find other memory foam mattresses for much cheaper, it’s unlikely they will meet the same attention to quality as Tempur.
But Tempur is so much more expensive…
Tempur is much pricier than some other memory foam brands available, but remember, you get what you pay for.
Tempur offers a 10-year guarantee on all of their mattresses, so really you are spreading the cost over a period of 10 years. For example, a £1299 Tempur Cloud spread over 10 years is only £129 per year. £129 for a fantastic sleep all year round isn’t a bad deal!
What if I don’t find Tempur comfortable?
Tempur feels unique to any other memory foam. When I worked for Bensons for Beds, many customers compared it to laying on a cloud.
But not everybody likes that feeling.
Luckily, Tempur mattresses come in a range of different firmness options to suit your individual needs. It’s a good idea to try them all and see what feels best.
Like other memory foam brands such as Simba and Emma, Tempur offers a 100-night sleep trial on all of their mattresses when bought directly through them.
High street retailers like Bensons for Beds and Dreams also offer a 30–40-night trial on all of their mattresses to give you extra peace of mind when deciding.
Now it’s up to you…
We’ve told you why we think Tempur is better than ordinary memory foam. But only you can decide on your perfect mattress and it’s a unique journey for everyone.
